Vincent’s special education experience

Vincent taught in the Old Bridge Township School System in New Jersey for 36 years: nine years in grades 4–6 and 27 years in special education. His special education career began in self-contained classes working with students identified at the time as Emotionally Disturbed.

His writing emphasizes the difference between formal policy and what a teacher sees and decides from day to day while working with individual students.
